Apple iOS 8.1.3 and Beyond: What’s Coming in 2015

Apple have been quite active in their development of iOS recently, and it’s hard to deny that they have been delivering some excellent results, both in terms of improving the operating system’s productivity, as well as its intuitiveness and overall visual style. While it still has some problems, the current iteration of iOS is without doubt the best the OS has been, and Apple seem to have even more planned for its future in 2015 as well.

It’s worth noting that the OS has seen some issues with its more recent releases, particularly 8.1.2 which had a few bugs across certain iPhone devices. The update broke cellular network access for some users, while others were left unable to login with their fingerprints, and the situation was so bad that Apple had to roll back some of the changes in the end.

Currently, people seem confused over whether or not they should install iOS 8.1.2, as the reported issues are a bit too much for some to handle. At the same time, plenty of people have been reporting that they’re able to enjoy the update without running into too many problems, as the issues seem to be very tightly restricted to specific devices. This confusing situation has been undermining people’s trust in iOS updates to some extent, and it’s possible that Apple will have to revise their update plans if they want to entice everyone to keep their devices up to date in the future.

There are some features that users have been requesting for the future versions of the operating system, mainly a revision of the home screen with improved functionality for large-screen devices. Apple have tried to remedy these problems when they released the iPhone 6 Plus, but it seems that the drop-down screen wasn’t quite enough to please users.

An improved app drawer is also something that users have wanted to see for quite a while now, as other mobile operating systems have long had more adequate methods for organizing multiple apps in an easy manner. It’s strange that the company that puts so much emphasis on simplicity and usability is the one lagging behind its competitors in something so simple, but it’s also likely that Apple will change that in 2015.

Apple iOS 8.1.3

With the way Apple have been splitting their production in different directions, with devices of all sizes, it’s understandable that they would have more trouble ensuring that iOS works properly across the board. However, they also have the benefit of being in full control over their hardware, unlike Google with Android, so they should take advantage of that fact and develop an operating system that delivers the same experience on every device, making full use of the hardware’s capabilities.
