In addition, “Angry Birds: Stella POP!” is actually generating very loyal following among female millennials, which was confirmed by the Entertainment Softwar Association.
In mid-April, the association found out that women 18 years or older play the game more than boys 18 or younger.
Heini Kaihu, head of studio at Rovio Entertainment, explained that typical with all “Angry Birds” games, “Angry Birds: Stella POP!” appeals to a wide demographic of gamers. But most of them at Rovio were surprised with the strong following of the spinoff series among female millennials globally, particularly in the US.
Kaihu added that gaming industry studies and researches are discovering trends that deviate from normal presumptions that mobile video games are primarily a male pastime. He said that they are aware of the potentials of women gamers too that is why they also have many female developers at Rovio Entertainment. He also assured that Rovio will continue to champion female characters in all its games.
“Angry Birds: Stella” was released late last year with a slingshot game. It featured the adventures of Stella and her five friends. The gameplay trailer of “Angry Birds: Stella” has been viewed over 160 million times on Toons.tv and YouTube combined.
