Angelina Jolie has been a true source of inspiration for women especially with her surgery early this year which was aimed at preventing the possible onset of ovarian cancer.
She was very candid and frank about her whole health situation, recounting what she has gone through by writing in the Op-Ed section of the New York Times sometime in March this year.
Despite the fact that she will no longer be able to give birth again as the operation involved the removal of her ovaries and fallopian tubes, the veteran Hollywood actress accepted her fate with open arms, citing that she will be ready for the physical change that will most likely come with it.
Some two years ago, Angelina revealed that she has in her a breast cancer gene which comes from her family. She was also diagnosed to have a very high risk for developing both breast and ovarian cancer.
Her mother and maternal grandmother died of ovarian cancer indicating that the cancer gene runs in the family blood.
The findings then led the actress to have her healthy breasts removed to avoid getting breast cancer. Then two weeks ago, she had her ovaries and fallopian tubes also removed to eliminate the risk of getting ovarian cancer. Her husband Brad Pitt has been very supportive of her all throughout her health ordeal.
