In a statement during the celebration, the actress said that she felt honored to mark the World Refugee Day with Secretary Kerry in the US, adding that it was moving to share the occasion with Americans from all faiths and backgrounds, united in support of refugees worldwide, and understanding the importance of the occasion.
The “Lara Craft: Tomb Raider” actress said that the initiative has connected every nation, faith, and people on earth through the diversity of people.
She added that World Refugee Day is a day to remember that everyone’s diversity and openness to the world is a source of strength that everyone can draw on. The number of refugees all over the world is now at an all-time historical high of 65 million.
