Android Nougat 7.0: The Much Awaited Release and List of Worthy Phones

After the USA, UK, Korea and China, Samsung is now looking at launching the new OS in the Philippines as well. The release might be as close as a week. A SamMobile user shared information wherein it became clear that the Beta version will soon be released in the Philippines as well.

The users of unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets can use the Nougat 7.0 and report on its performance to Samsung. This can be made possible by installing the Samsung’s Galaxy Beta Program application. This will also lead the users to receive air updates about the new OS.

Samsung has also come up with a user’s guide to help them navigate through the changes that have come about from Marshmallow to Nougat. Samsung is expected to roll out the official update for Galaxy S7 anytime around the first few weeks of December. This news has been let out by Android Central that the Beta program will end in mid-December.

Following the track of the Beta program, the official update will also roll out on to the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in Asia and Europe followed by unlocked models in the US. However, the updates may reach the US handsets a little later as compared to the rest.

The latest updates for Android 7.0 and Android 7.1 have hit LG G5, Sony Xperia and Nexus 9 as of now. But LG G5 is supposed to b the first one to receive the full update of the OS shortly, the size f which will be 1.27GB. This update will be available on-the-air.

Soon, Sony Xperia X will have the update too. To add on to this, the phone will soon start with Android Nougat 7.0 as its built-in OS with the build number 58.1.A.0.342 (NBD91K4). The model will include the latest Xperia Transfer as well as the new Xperia Home.

The Android Nougat 7.1 will soon be available on the phones which had the developer previews of the OS. These models include Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Google Pixel C. Rumors also suggest that Android might release Nougat 7.1 for Blackberry phones as well.

HTC has also confirmed the rolling out of Android N soon on three of its current devices:  HTC 10, HTC One A9 and HTC One M9. The news was confirmed via Twitter without a probable release date. However, it is expected to be out by November end. But HTC One M8 won’ be receiving the update officially. It is possible to get the unofficial Nougat ROM through XDA Developers.

Huawei Mate 9 will also be getting the update but through its home server. Mate 9 will be able to get upgraded to Nougat with the help of the steps listed by the XDA Developer Forum, and Honor is expected to receive updates sometime in early 2017.

LG V20 will be released with the new OS by the end of November and follow that LG G5 will receive the update as well. LG G4 may have to wait for the new update, but it will surely be sometime in the early part of 2017.
