Android N Raising the Excitement and Anticipation of Android Device Users

Android N, the latest operating system from Google, is set for a release later this year. Now Android device users are already getting excited to have their hands on the latest update.

Android N which stands for Nougat will introduce notable changes in the operating system and its development platform including the ability to display multiple apps on-screen at once in a split-screen view.

The notification shade was also redesigned, featuring a smaller row of icons for settings and replacing the notification cards with sheet design.

The Doze power saving mechanism introduced through its predecessor was expanded to include a state of activated when the device is running on battery and the screen has been off for a period of time.

A new Data Saver mode was also introduced which restricts background mobile data usage, and can trigger internal functions in apps that are designed to reduce bandwidth usage, such as capping the quality of streaming media.

It will also include support for online replies to notifications as well as an OpenJDK-based Java environment and support for the Vulkan graphics rendering API. Android N will also provide seamless system updates on supported devices.

Know Your Mobile reports that Nexus phones from HTC such as the Sailfish and Marlin will be the front runners into getting the system update.

Both phones will likely be released in the next few months. Nexus phones will likely receive Android N first as well particularly Nexus 6P, 5X, 6, 9, Player, or the Pixel C tablet.

HTC meanwhile confirmed through its Twitter account that the HTC 10, One A9, and One M9 will get the update as soon as it becomes available.

As usual, other phone manufacturers like Samsung and LG will have to wait until the holidays before they could roll out Android N.

GreenBot suggests that Samsung’s flagship devices will obviously get the update as well as the forthcoming Galaxy Note 7.

Although it might take a while before Nougat hits Samsung devices. Last year, the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge finally received Android Marshmallow eight months after the software’s release.

There are reports that LG’s V20, which is slated to come out in September, will be sporting the newest operating system. However, some say that it will be just available for the purpose of a limited test in a small region.

Aside from the upcoming V20, there’s a good chance that the LG G5 and the V10 should be rolling with the Nougat early next year.

As for Motorola, the company recently declined to commit to the monthly security update cycle. This means that it might a little longer for devices such as Moto Z to receive the latest operating system.

Reports say that the Moto X Pure Edition and Moto G4, which are the latest devices in the company’s budget line up, should also expect Nougat to come rolling to their software.

Android Nougat

During Google’s I/O 2016, the company talked about its future plans for Android. They stated some ideas about how it can solve fragmentation in its platform, but these ideas still need some refinements.

Five developer previews of Nougat was released monthly from March to July. Google announced the final version would be released in the third quarter of 2016 but has not given an exact date.

Android devices in threat of a hacker bug

Some android users are now worried because some security flaws in their devices could give attackers complete access to their phone’s data.

According to BBC, the bugs were uncovered by Checkpoint Researchers while looking at software running on chipsets made by US firm Qualcomm. The website says that it has been found in a software used on millions of Android devices.
