Android M Update Rolling Out to Sony, LG Devices in Preparation for Android N!

If it turns out that a user still has to upgrade to Android M before getting to N – which is highly likely – this will result in even more time wasted for those who’re postponing the update right now. Especially considering the huge server load that Google and manufacturers will face once the new major version is released and people hurry to try it out.

Android N should be an interesting chapter in the life of the operating system in any case. The new version comes with a variety of interesting new features, such as a split-screen mode and advanced multitasking, and is expected to revolutionize the way users interact with their smartphones.

Some have pointed out that the split-screen functionality is not actually that innovative, as Microsoft introduced a similar feature in Windows 8.1 – which was also available on tablets – but for some reason decided to drop it from Windows 10, including its mobile versions.

It’s highly likely that Apple are preparing to add something similar to their own operating system if this functionality proves successful, and there are rumors that the company is already toying around with the idea. Of course, this is Apple, so it’s pretty much impossible to predict what they are doing behind the scenes. The company has built its image on the idea of being vague and cryptic, but for many of their fans this is actually part of the fun in following them.
