Although Android 5.0 Lollipop seems to be getting the bulk of attention presently, there are still many devices that have not yet seen the Android KitKat Update. Take a look around and see whether any of your devices will receive the KitKat update anytime soon, preferably before the Lollipop release.
Firstly, Samsung is the primary concern with the company selling the largest number of Android Smartphones. Samsung UK was questioned recently regarding the Android KitKat Update. They announced a rollout plan for KitKat in due course of time with no further updates so far.
However, users of Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 should be happy with their newly released 4.4 KitKat updates. Galaxy S4 Zoom users, having received, now await a 4.4.4 update. Other devices to expect the Android KitKat Update include Note 2, S3, S4 Active, Galaxy Mega, Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Tab 3.7.0 among others.
HTC went through some prior issues but finally the HTC M7 has started receiving the Android KitKat Update 4.4 in UK for Vodafone, O2, Three and EE carriers. The HTC One Mini along with the One Max should expect the 4.4.x KitKat update in the coming months.
Motorola users seem to be happy with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat updates rolling out for their 2013 Moto G and Moto X devices in the market. Most of the UK users of Sony seem to have received the Android KitKat Update 4.4.2 with the latest line of Xperia Z devices. For them, it seems the KitKat 4.4.4 updates should be rolling out very soon. We could certainly see the update rolling out for devices like the Z, Z1, Z1 Ultra, Z Tablet, ZR, ZL and the other devices.
For LG G3 users, there is good news as it has received a brand new Android 4.4.2 upgrade which comes with some stability improvements before the release of the 5.0 Lollipop update. It also comes with the latest built firmware version V10L. There is also news that this Korean manufacturer might completely skip the release of Android 4.3 for most of their devices.
In this way, users with older LG phones might directly experience the Android KitKat Update 4.4 on their devices. This has, however, not been confirmed and is totally based on current Android-related rumors.
There are many older devices that are now being rumored to receive the latest update. These include devices like the Optimus F3, F6, F7, L9 II, G Pro Lite, VU III and the LG G Flex.
No new information was released regarding any updates for LG G Pro. Much older devices like that of LG Optimus 4x HD will probably remain stuck on the Jellybean platform.
Stay tuned for additional information and news regarding the latest Android updates!
