Google had introduced Doze with Marshmallow, but they perfected it with Android Nougat. The feature uses sensors which detect when the phone is idle, even when it is carried in hand or a bag and immediately cuts down on the power consumption. The Doze feature in Android Nougat will be better than the previous one.
Android Nougat will also allow the users to use their data efficiently. The Data Saver mode reduces the consumption of cellular data and limits the bit rate for streaming and also reduces the quality of the images.
Users who have already started using Nougat have complained that some devices have started reflecting terrible battery life after the update. The phone supposedly shuts down after a period of activity, like taking photos and refuses to switch on until hooked to a charger.
Express reported that users have complained about the battery going below 25% in no time!
For those suffering from Ambient Display issues, Google has asked them to go for a Factory reset. Google is providing Pixel with replacement units if the issue persists. Users are hopeful that the 7.1.1 Nougat update will fix these glitches.
