Android 7.0 Nougat Galaxy Beta Program Launched By Samsung for Flagships Only, OnePlus 3 Will Be Receiving Nougat by January!

In a sad turn of events, it seems like more devices in the world are running on Gingerbread than Nougat. Shortly, the Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and OnePlus 3 will be getting the beta versions, and it was recently announced by ZTE that the Axon 7 would be receiving a new update by January.

However, besides some very high profile devices like Google’s Pixel, Pixel XL, and LG’s V20, the operating system has been very slow in making its way to most Android smartphones. Keep in mind that it was unveiled back in late August. If you look at the latest numbers from Android Developers Dashboard, you’ll think about the problems of fragmentation.

All such stats were collected within a week-long period, which ended on 7th November. It was recorded by finding out devices which are running the Google Play Store App, as it was included on Android versions 2.2 or higher.

At the moment, combined version of Lollipop comprises about 34.1 percent of the complete distribution; version KitKat has 25.2 percent and Marshmallow is at 24 percent.

Meanwhile, Nougat, the new player in the field, has only 0.3 percent, placing it among Froyo’s 0.1% and Gingerbread’s 1.3%. Right now, Pixel 7.1 doesn’t appear at all on the list. This is because any versions with less than 0.1 percent global distribution, isn’t shown.

Stay tuned for more updates on Android Nougat 7.0!
