Android 5.0 Lollipop Rolls Out on Moto Gs in India; All Set to Hit LG G3 in the US!

While the next major update of Google’s latest mobile operating system, the Android 5.1 Lollipop, is already set to roll out in February, several smartphone manufacturers and handset users are still waiting for the over-the-air (OTA) release of the Android 5.0 Lollipop.

NDTV Gadgets has, in fact, reported that the base mobile operating system was just released for Motorola’s Moto G and Moto G (Gen 2) in India on January 23, more than two months after it was officially unveiled to the world.

In addition to India, the Android 5.0 Lollipop is said to be rolling out to the Moto G in the US.

Motorola Mobility made the announcement on Twitter on January 22 and advised users to just watch out for notifications on their devices.

For Moto G users, who prefer to check whether the OTA update of the Lollipop has already arrived, they can manually check by going to the settings of their mobile devices and clicking on the About Phone icon and subsequently the System Update.

LG G3’s turn

Meanwhile, LG’s current flagship smartphone, the G3, has yet to officially receive the Lollipop in the US. While the LG G3 has already gotten the Android 5.0 Lollipop as early as December, Google’s latest mobile operating system has yet to come into devices outside of its home country.

But it seems that things would be changing very soon as LG Mobile US already made an announcement on Twitter that the Lollipop will finally be rolling out soon in G3 currently being held by American owners.

Phandroid reported that LG Mobile US has been talking directly with US carriers and retailers about the variants of the Korean company’s flagship smartphone that are current being retailed in the country. And it seems likely that they would be rolling out the update pretty soon.

Material design

The Android 5.0 Lollipop is quite proud of its ‘material design,’ which completely changes the interface with more fluid animations and a cleaner aesthetic appearance.

When Google announced its mobile operating system before its official launch on November 12, 2014, it said that the Lollipop shall make every animation, every ripple, and every shadow look real.

It also mentioned that the new mobile operating system has been developed to make the Android experience seamless across devices including smartphones, tablets and TVs.

Android Lollipop 5.1

However, for those mobile device users who have already taken on the Android 5.0 Lollipop, they feel that there are not too many sweeping changes on the latest mobile operating system from the Android 4.4 KitKat. And it is likely that when the update finally hits the LG G3, users would hardly be so surprised or amazed of how it looks or what else can it do.

It is also likely that when the update hits the device, notification will also follow about the availability of a patch or a key system update like the Android 5.1 Lollipop.
