With the confirmation of Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige that “Amazing Spider-Man 3” is officially cancelled after they tapped British teenage actor Asa Butterfield to take on the role of Peter Parker, Andrew Garfield as the web-sling superhero for the third time is already out.
There has been lingering rumors about the prospect of “Amazing Spider-Man 3” but according to recent reports, it was actually Andrew Garfield who drove the final nail on the coffin of the supposed “Amazing Spider-Man 3” movie when he snubbed Sony Pictures chief Kaz Hirai in an event in Rio de Janeiro in the summer of 2014.
Hirai would have introduced Garfield as the star of the upcoming ‘Amazing Spider-Man 3’ during the event but for some reason the temperamental and moody actor did not show up even though he flew in to the country before the event. Garfield just claimed that he was feeling under the weather and could not make it to the event.
As a result, the speech of Hirai had to be changed and the rest, as everyone knows it, is history. Had Garfield showed up in the event, Hirai would have pushed for ‘Amazing Spider-Man 3’ before deciding to work out and forged an agreement with Marvel Studios.
But with what Garfield had done, Hirai was left no choice but to junk the ‘Amazing Spider-Man 3’ movie project and eventually signed a deal with Marvel Studios a few months later.
Getting something good in return
However, it appears that Andrew Garfield is getting something better in return these days because word has it that he and Emma Stone are back together in each other’s arms after a brief split sometime in March or April.
Reports also have it that the reunited couple is now planning to tie the knot soon as they were spotted recently in New York’s Diamond District shopping for wedding rings, particularly a loose emerald-shaped stone, details Yibada.
A source close to the couple disclosed that Andrew has proposed to Emma even before their recent split but it is only now when they got back together again that they decided to shop for wedding rings.
Despite their momentary breakup, Garfield knew in his heart that Stone is the right girl for him so now that he got her back, the two are actually excited to design their own engagement ring together. They are also looking forward to sharing more years together.
No longer thinking about it
It is likely that Andrew Garfield is no longer thinking about his missed opportunity to play the web-crawling superhero in the “Amazing Spider-Man 3” which he is likely not get back too. But the important thing is that he got Emma Stone back.
Meanwhile, with signing of the agreement in February, Sony Pictures has relinquished its rights to Spider-Man as the super-hero officially enters the Marvel cinematic universe.
It has been previously reported after the February signing of the deal between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures that the former is looking at bringing back Peter Parker in the “Spider-Man” solo reboot movie to high school.
