The last shot of American Horror Story: Freak Show Season 4 Finale indicated that Elsa succeeded in snaring the elusive fame. Elsa appeared on the cover of Life Magazine, being the star of a Friday Night Show. On January 7th, Wednesday, Freak Show is about to return but it seems like Elsa will no longer be present. She has probably decided to quit it and choose the Hollywood route. Meanwhile, Neil Patrick Harris makes an appearance as the present owner of the freak show.
NPH plays the role of Chester, the new owner of American Horror Story: Freak Show, who is also a magician. If you know NPH, you are aware that this is no surprise at all. In the preview clip, you will notice Elsa saying, “The time has come to toast the new owner, Chester.” The preview suggested that Chester seems to be interested in the twins, Bette and Dot. He is seen kissing one of the twins and calling the other beautiful.
However, like a proper Freak Show character, he certainly has a terrifying and blood-thirsty side to him. The preview has a part where he can be literally seen sawing a woman in half! From the looks of it, Ima could turn out to be the victim. Harris will appear in two consecutive episodes, that of number 11 and 12.
Furthermore, in the final episode, David Burtka, the real life partner of Neil Patrick Harris will be starring in American Horror Story: Freak Show. In episode 10, we saw how Pepper landed in the asylum following the death of her husband, Salty. This is the first time that a connection between the 2 seasons of the FX anthology series was showcased. Lily Rabe also returned as Sister Eunice, reprising her role in “American Horror Story-Asylum”.
In the mid-season finale, Maggie opened up to Desiree regarding how she is not a fortune-teller and that she and Stanley is just business partners. She also took her to the Museum of Morbid Curiosities. Desiree was rather shocked, seeing Salty and Ma Petitie on the display there.
Meanwhile, Denis ‘O’ Hare came up with the best way to describe his character in American Horror Story: Freak Show. According to him, “Stanley is the billiard ball that scatters the other balls”. We can hope that those balls are wise to roll as far away as possible. Recently, the path to ‘respect’ that was chosen by Stanley is a frighteningly murderous one.
Earlier, Stanley’s partner-in-crime was Maggie, played by Emma Roberts. However, lately, even she has experienced a crisis of conscience. O’Hare said that Stanley is acting as the instigator and the engine of the season. Whatever he does sets everything in motion, like his attempts to murder, co-opt, corral and change, weaving the spells among different people.
