Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s Pet Dogs Return to US in a Jiff After Being Threatened with Euthanasia, More Details

Amber Heard returned to the US on May 15 in a jiff from Australia along with two Yorkshire pooches she and Johnny Depp own to escape threat on the lives of their pets in the Land Down Under.

It turns out that Yorkshire terriers Pistol and Boo were with Johnny Depp and wife Amber Heard when they flew to Gold Coast in Australia in the third week of April onboard the actor’s private jet so that the actor could resume filming of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”

Apparently, the two pet dogs have not been declared to Australian Customs. So when Australian Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce learned about Johnny Depp’s dogs after owners of a Gold Coast dog grooming salon posted photos of them online, he threatened them with euthanasia unless the animals are sent back to the US immediately, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard obviously need no convincing regarding the Minister’s threat because they are also aware that their pet dogs have slipped into the country without any documentation and thus were ‘illegal aliens.’

So they spared no time on commissioning a Challenger 604 wide-bodied corporate jet in sending home their pet dogs back to the US accompanied by Amber Heard. The charter was reported to have cost the celebrity couple $400,000.

On May 17, Amber Heard already posted on her Instagram account that she’s back in Los Angeles, which means also that her husband’s pooches are already safe.

Underwent processing

Apparently, when Pistol and Boo arrived in the US, they were also subjected by US Customs and Border Protection to investigation considering that the US does not consider Australia as a country free of rabies.

The department said that the process on the two dogs that just came from another country, is meant to ensure that proper safeguarding procedures are followed to stop rabies from reaching or spreading in the US.

A department spokesman said that all dogs must have proof of rabies vaccination unless they came from a country which is considered by the US as rabies-free. They are also being subjected to temporary confinement until after they have met and complied with the requirements.

The spokesman added that Australia is not considered as a rabies-free country because lyssaviruses in bats have been previously reported in the country as well as fatal human rabies cases too.

Camouflaged Johnny and Amber’s rift

The recent issue on their pet Yorkshire terriers Pistol and Boo has also taken the heat off the so-called rough patch in the more than three-month-old marriage of the 51-year-old actor Johnny Depp and 28-year-old Amber Heard.

Reports have been saying that the couple are just putting up a happy front in the public even as they continue to fight while they are away from the limelight and public view.
