People are already excited about Diablo 4, and there are news and rumors circulating online. Here’s all that you need to know about the game. It includes rumors, various updates and much more. It has been 20 years since the first Diablo game was launched.
Right now, the opportunity is ripe for Blizzard to unveil the latest Diablo 4. Blizzcon 2016 is coming up soon, and people are expecting some news on Diablo.
At the same time, even without Blizzcon, there is no shortage of news and rumors regarding the title. The game is either due for release, or it will be unveiled years from now. It all depends on how you look at it. The previous Diablo releases were as follows:

- Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction – June 27, 2001
- Diablo 2 – June 29, 2000

It is clear that previous releases of Diablo were very far apart. However, the expansions follow quite quickly. The last expansion was released back in 2014 while Diablo 3 was launched in 2012. We last saw Reaper of Souls 2 years back; therefore, a new game should be released anytime now. However, let’s not get ahead of ourselves as there is a major chance of Diablo 4 not being unveiled in Blizzcon.
The Diablo games were always unveiled by Blizzard in Europe. Diablo 1 was released in London, 2 in France and 3 in RoS in Germany. Blizzcon will be held in Anaheim, California. On top of that, there is a good chance that we might witness an expansion to Diablo 3 instead of a whole new game.
The lead designer for Diablo 3, Jay Wilson, spoke to MTV regarding the game, back in 2014. According to him, Blizzard is looking ahead of time about what their expansions will be. Currently, fans are speculating about his early remarks and how the word ‘expansion’ was mentioned in a plural manner.
In 2010, fans saw a Blizzcon roadmap leaked online. It didn’t look quite as forward as 2016, but the last entry was an expansion set for Diablo 3 which was set for release in last year’s fourth quarter. Sadly, that didn’t happen, but from the looks of it, Blizzard is planning to release two expansions for Diablo 3 before a proper sequel is unveiled.
If you fast forward to Blizzcon 2013, you will notice another hint which suggests the presence of a second Diablo 3 sequel.
In a Q&A panel, Josh Mosqueira, the Diablo 3 game director who left last year, replied ‘Maybe’ when he was asked whether there would be a second expansion pack for Diablo. However, the strongest evidence we have so far about Diablo 4 being unveiled at Blizzcon 2016 is what’s known as Diablo 4 dice conspiracy.
Some people call it a coincidence while others think that it’s a cunning tease. Inside the Blizzcon 2016 goodie bag, you will find a small sack that is Diablo themed, and it’s filled with dice. These are the dice you normally use for games like Dungeons and Dragons, including non-conventional numbers of sides.
One of the dies included comes with four sides and it isn’t quite special. However, the shorthand name for a die like that is D4. According to some people, this is a clue that Diablo 4 is coming soon.
