Alien: Covenant to See Michael Fassbender Taking on the Role of Android Robots David and Walter!

When “Prometheus” was shown in 2012, British actor Michael Fassbender took on the role of the evil android David. He and Noomi Rapace’s Dr. Elizabeth Shaw were the only survivors in the first movie but David was a bit on the dismembered side, reports Yahoo! Movies.

In the sequel movie, officially titled as “Alien: Covenant,” Michael Fassbender shall be playing dual roles and both of them are still going to be android robots. The movie shall be hitting global theaters on May 17, 2017.

Apparently, in addition to being the rebuilt David, the actor shall be taking on the role of another robot called Walter.

It was actually the actor himself who made the disclosure in a recent interview. Fassbender revealed that David and Walter are very much droids of a different stripe.

He added that Walter is a real different kettle of fish while David is a work-in-progress and was merely a prototype of sort.

Program not to capture aliens

Fassbender explained that there are elements of David that were human elements and some people find it a little disturbing. Walter is the more straightforward robot. He actually described Walter as pretty logical but is much more of a servant without the ego.

Following the actor’s revelation, critics theorized that Walter will be a robot in “Alien: Covenant” who is actually useful and not programmed to capture aliens at the expense of human lives like Ash in the original film, notes Metro.

Michael Fassbender is set to star in “Alien: Covenant” alongside Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, Billie Crudup and James Franco.

While it has been previously stated that she will no longer be part of the sequel to “Prometheus,” Noomi Rapace is also expected to reprise her role as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw in “Alien: Covenant.”

Second of three films in trilogy

“Alien: Covenant” is the second chapter in a planned prequel trilogy, and will see a new crew discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise but is actually a dangerous world solely inhabited by an android robot.

The sequel to the science-fiction film “Prometheus” shown in 2012 is now officially titled as “Alien: Covenant” and it shall be hitting theaters in May next year.

Its working title was previously pegged as “Prometheus 2” but it was retitled to “Alien: Covenant” as a way of paying homage to the franchise that bore the prequel trilogy.

“Alien: Covenant” is to be the second movie but it shall already make the connection to the very successful “Alien” film franchise which Director Ridley Scott also started back in 1979 with Sigourney Weaver in the lead role.

The official synopsis of the movie describes it as the return of Ridley Scott to the universe he created in “Alien.”

It stated that the crew of the colony ship Covenant was bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy and they discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David.

David happens to be the lone survivor of the doomed expedition of Prometheus, the first colony ship.

Accordingly, David will journey to the home planet of the Engineers to find out about the creation of humanity and why they made those acid-spitting Xenomorphs.

Ridley Scott, in a previous interview, said that the crew has got to go back and find those Engineers and see what they were thinking. He explained further that if the Engineers are the forerunners of the race, and therefore were creators of life forms in places that were possible for biology to function, they have to find out what was the reason for the creation and why.
