Al Pacino Might Be Casted for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’

“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” will hit theaters in May 2017 yet but Director James Gunn announced early this week that casting has already began for the sequel of the highly-successful movie from Marvel Comics “Guardians of the Galaxy” shown in worldwide theaters last year.

There have been reports that Director Gunn has started talking to a certain actor trying to convince him to take on a role and become a new member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Since the director refused to divulge the identity of the actor, it quite naturally set off rumors and speculations, the loudest among which is that the actor is the Oscar-winning and legendary Al Pacino.

James Gunn, Al Pacino, or Marvel Studios has yet to make any announcement or statement to either confirm or deny the report so most of the information flying around should be subjected to thorough scrutiny.

Two new female characters

Venture Capital Post reported that “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” shall have two new female characters who shall join the Guardians in their quest.

Any of these two female characters may likely be from outer space. Based on the Marvel Comics, any two of these characters may turn up in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” including Mantis, Moondragon, Phyla Vell, and Angela.

Mantis is an actual Guardian whose powers include martial arts, telepathy with plants and she is very much capable of surviving in outer space.

Moondragon is also a telephatic martial artist. She is also capable of mind control, personality alteration, and illusion casting.

Phyla Vell on the other hand is an actual Guardian that comes from an advanced militaristic alien race known as Kree. She has super strength and energy powers.

And then there’s Angela, who is known as the attractive angel and is the secret sister of Thor. She has the Asgardian powers and is known for her being a cosmic bounty hunter.

Meanwhile, it is likely that the villain roles in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” will end up going to Adam Warlock and Kovac.

Key elements in Marvel cinematic universe

Everyone knows that every element of the Marvel cinematic universe is interconnected with one another so every Marvel movie nearly has a bearing on at least one or two films in the stable.

The precious Infinity Stones, all five of them, were first mentioned in “Thor: The Dark World” and the movie even introduced an important character through The Collector, who was also featured in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

The next mention of the Infinity Stones came during the “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which Thanos would like to get his hands on to achieve immense power to rule the entire galaxy.
