Excellent ratings
Even before the end of Season 9 last year, the show was already renewed for Season 10. As early as March 13, 2014, “Criminal Minds” Season 10 was officially confirmed on CBS and the decision came with the announcement that Jennifer Love Hewitt will be joining the show as an undercover agent to join the BAU.
But this year, the renewal advice for the show came a bit late from CBS. The show already aired its series finale and there was still no word from the network putting the show’s producers and showrunners on edges for quite some time. Erica Messer was also getting worried about the future of the series since six actors of the show are already up for contract negotiations then.
As early as late in January, Messer has been teasing that there are already plans for Season 11 of “Criminal Minds” even though there is no official decision yet from CBS.
In terms of ratings, “Criminal Minds” Season 10 posted an average of over 10 million viewers per episode so it became only imperative for CBS to renew the show for another season.
