When we last saw May in “Agents of SHIELD”, she fell victim to a strange “disease” which started to mess with her mind, driving her insane and making her very dangerous to not only those around her, but herself as well. And now, according to some hints about the upcoming episode 3, her life will be in the hands of the agents.
It’s still not clear exactly what’s taken over her body and mind, but the preview for the new episode revealed that the team will be racing against the clock to make sure that she survives and doesn’t end up permanently affected by the strange condition.
In fact, the preview states that Simmons and Dr. Radcliffe will literally only have several hours before things get bad beyond recovery, so it sounds like it’s going to be a tense episode. We suspect that by the end of it, we’ll find out what the disease is and how it’s managed to affect May, whether the two manage to save her or not.
There are some suspicions in the community that the disease is going to be a much more important presence in this season than we suspect, and we’re going to see some even more dramatic moments related to it. Hopefully the team will be better prepared with some actual knowledge by the time it strikes again.
Other than that, there will be some activity on all fronts in the new episode. Some characters will be feeling more and more burdened by the secrets they have to carry – more specifically, Radcliffe has to hide his new project from Simmons, and this is starting to get to him.
He knows that the right thing would be to let Simmons know everything, but at the same time the cost would be far too great for not only Radcliffe, but Aida (the project) as well. We suspect that this story will come to some resolution pretty soon though, as it’s going to grow quite tense otherwise, and it could set up things for a much worse situation (which we hope the writers aren’t planning to do right now).
It also sounds like some special surprises are being planned behind the scenes, and even some of the actors on the show are not quite sure what’s going to happen in the next episodes. At least that’s the implication we got from some of the recent rumors, but it’s possible that this was just a misunderstanding and not anything major being planned by the showrunners.
Last but not least, we’re possibly going to meet a new crew of adversaries during the upcoming episode, implied not only by the synopsis but also its name. There has been a lot of talk about the group trying to fight against the Registration network against the world, and it looks like we’re finally going to get a closer look at them.
Fans have had some speculations about this specific part of the episode, and the season as a whole, and it will be interesting to see if they’ve been on the right track.
Even though the current season of “Agents of SHIELD” started out a bit questionably, the producers have definitely been on the right track with the second episode, and it looks like episode 3 is going to further solidify the positive impressions fans were recently given. Hopefully the story is as interesting as the preview made it sound.
