We suspect that in the end, the other agents are going to realize why Coulson feels that way and will change the tone of their voices into something else that could possibly pull him up. It’s a very conflicting situation as it seems like he needs someone to first acknowledge his negative feelings and only then try to help him.
Will the other agents even be aware that Coulson is suffering, or will he conceal his emotions for the most part? It would be entirely in the style of the character to do the latter, especially given all that’s happened around him, although it would lower the chances of seeing him recovered anytime soon.
Some of the fans following “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” have been somewhat worried that the show could get too dark for its own good with these developments, but we shouldn’t forget that this series was never a lighthearted one in the first place.
Serious topics keep popping up from time to time, and fans need to always be prepared that things could take a turn for the worse with their own favorite characters. But in the end, the show has managed to build up those characters far better than many others have done over such a period of time, which deserves some praise by itself.
