After Kobe, Karl Malone Challenges WWE Champion Brock Lesnar to a Fight

Either the NBA’s Mailman Karl Malone has nothing better to do these days or he just wanted to be relevant again in the sports media that he publicly came out early this week to challenge Kobe Bryant to settle an old feud man-to-man.

Not content with his dare to the Black Mamba, which was an offshoot of him hitting on Kobe’s wife Vanessa almost 12 years ago, Karl Malone also challenged WWE champion Brock Lesnar to a fight, reports Fox Sports.

It can be recalled that Karl Malone is no stranger to entertainment wrestling. He once teamed up with Diamond Dallas Page where they fought Dennis Rodman and Hulk Hogan in a tag team match at WCW’s Bash at the Beach back in 1998.

The Mailman and Dennis Rodman were at the height of their popularity in the NBA then because the Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz met twice in the NBA Finals before the WCW pay-per-view event. The duo of Karl Malone and Diamond Dallas Page won the tag-team match.

Brock Lesnar or the WWE has yet to make a comment on the latest ranting of Karl Malone which he made during an interview with HuffPost Live.

Hitting from all angles

Karl Malone was actually hitting from all angles delivering the heat on some of the issues currently hounding the NBA from statisticians, soft players, and Kobe Bryant too.

Malone first made his rant on the so-called analytics of the game. He actually seconded the opinion of Charles Barkley that a team built on a foundation of analytics is not a good defensive team. Citing the Houston Rockets who prefer to go with analytics, Barkley called the team’s GM an idiot and the team analytics as a bunch of crap.

The Mailman also thinks that analytics are unimportant in the NBA. He said that it would just be better if everybody just play the game of basketball instead of analyzing it like it’s a rocket science or something.

Praises for Magic

But Malone was not all ranting. He knows how to give praise when he sees it. So when he was given an opportunity again by Jason Smith on Fox Radio on February 10, he more than welcomed it with open arms.

Asked to comment on Magic Johnson’s statement that Jim Buss mishandled the Lakers since taking over his late father Jerry two years ago, Malone said that when in doubt, the Lakers should go for someone like Magic who has won championships.

Malone said that if he was Jim Buss, he will respect what Magic says because at the end of the day the Lakers is a business, their business so they have to do whatever is necessary to give what intelligent fans want. He said that the Lakers management need to listen to fans and they also have to see the merit in what Magic is saying.
