If you were thinking that even though Adrian Peterson lost his appeal with the NFL that you might seem him play in the NFL again, you might be right. What you might not be right about is the fact that it is not likely to be in the state of Minnesota. Adrian Peterson hit the news hard during the 2014 NFL season when he was arrested for child abuse for allegedly injuring his four year old son. He pleaded no contest and the NFL will reinstate him on the 15th of April.
The good news is that he will get a chance to play football, which is all that he has really ever know. The bad news, mostly for Vikings fans, is that because of the cap that his contract carries, it might not be with the Vikings. With more than $15 million to hit next season and when asked about a pay cut, the very popular running back scoffed at that idea, according to reports from ESPN.
The Vikings are going to have to eat that money and pay him if they want a chance in the NFC Central. If they cannot see that happening, they are going to have to part ways and that gives Adrian Peterson a fresh start with another team. That might not be what he is looking for, but he may have no choice if he is not willing to take a pay cut to play one more year in Minnesota.
According to one online source, the general manager of the Vikings would love to see Adrian Peterson in the back field this upcoming season. He said that just about every single team in the NFL would love to have him on the roster and knowing that is the reason he would love for him to stay. Adrian Peterson only got to play one game in the 2014 season, but just like Ray Rice, he is a force on the field and will dominate regardless of where he is playing.
The general manager expects that when Adrian Peterson arrives back in Minnesota that he will be playing at a high level, just like all of the other years. There is no reason to think that there will be a drop off in performance at all. He is an all pro running back and has been a dominant force on the team since he arrived back in 2007. If things were to play out and he went to another team, there might be a few of them rearranging money to see if he would fit on the roster for sure.
