American singer Adam Levine is very elated that British musician Ellie Goulding would serve as musical advisor to his team in the Season 8 of “The Voice US.”
The Maroon 5 frontman has nothing but praises for the 28-year-old “Goodness Gracious” singer.
The 35-year-old Levine is one of the four panelists for the current season of “The Voice US” which began airing on February 23. And he couldn’t be happier that Ellie Goulding is to be his team’s musical advisor, describing the English songstress as very human, notes Yahoo! News.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Levine was quoted as saying that Ellie was so great as a musical advisor to his team. Adam said that the “How Long Will I Love You” singer is so human and she’s so easy to talk to.
Levine is also optimistic that Goulding would have a positive and profound impact on his team, and he really finds it awesome.
Second time appearance
With Ellie Goulding agreeing to become the musical advisor to Adam Levine’s team, it would be her second appearance on “The Voice US.” She also served as a temporary mentor during Season 5 of the widely-followed music talent search show.
Goulding is also quite suited for the job of musical advisor because she practically took the same path as the current aspirants in “The Voice US” Season 8.
The singer started her music career even while she was studying theater at Kent University in England. With the help or her music tutors, she made the big leap into the unknown to follow her dream of becoming a singer. And soon enough, she became one of today’s most bankable and reputable British musicians.
Goulding recounted the time when she was on a crossroad of whether to pursue her studies or go on with her music career. She recalled that she was actually going back and forward from doing mic nights in London to being in the university.
Her teachers then advised her to just quit at the university, which at first she thought was not good. But these teachers also told her to focus instead on doing music, which she did where she eventually became successful.
‘The Voice US’ Season 8
The eight season of the reality talent show “The Voice US” premiered on NBC on February 23 which also saw the return of Carson Daly as host.
Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams returned as coaches while Christina Aguillera returned to become a coach again, replacing Gwen Stefani from Season 7. Aguillera was a coach in the show up to Season 5 and she was absent in the next two seasons.
In addition to Ellie Goulding, the other musical advisors for Season 8 of “The Voice US” are Lionel Richie, Nick Jonas, and Meghan Trainor. Each coach will have a team of 12 aspirants making for a total of 48 contestants. Only one will stand out as winner at the culmination of the season.
