Adam Lambert has experienced a major break up before and he disclosed that the song “Eclipse” by Robyn helped him get through and over a tough break-up.
The “Ghost Town” singer sad that he cried a river when he heard the song after he and his other half split.
He recalls that something about the song just hit him at that particular moment and he was struck by its lyrics saying there’s an eclipse in your eye where I used to shine.
Lambert also praised Robyn for being such a great songwriter, details The Record.com.
The “American Idol” alum also talked about John Lennon’s very popular ballad “Imagine,” which he says would be the song he would like to be played at his funeral.
He said that there is something very sentimental about “Imagine” with its melancholy but not too full-on. He added that there is something kind of greater than everyone about the song.
The Queen in their pomp
The Queen + Adam Lambert made their UK festival debut recently at the Isle of Wight Festival. The last time that Queen, the rock band, performed in the UK was 46 years ago when Freddie Mercury was still the group’s lead vocalist.
Hardcore Queen fans of yore can argue that it’s no longer Queen but a new iteration of the group featuring guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor along with successful solo artist Adam Lambert.
Some critics also think that the new iteration of Queen is like very good karaoke featuring Adam Lambert in a series of bonker outfits that it felt like it was watching Queen doing the West End musical “We Will Rock You” and quite far off from the Live Aid-slaying Wembley Stadium-filling Queen of the mid 1980s, details The Telegraph of UK.
But some critics have already accepted the fact that Freddie Mercury has been dead for the last 25 years and Queen + Adam Lambert is the closest that they can ever get to seeing the band in its pomp.
The sheer quality and enduring appeal of the songs in their playlist that evening debunks all cynicism. Lambert has certainly given the group a charismatic and unique frontman but was polite enough to say that there is only one Freddie Mercury and he is not about to replace him.
A confidence booster
Adam Lambert previously said that performing alongside the iconic rock band has given him a great confidence as a performer.
He said that public reactions to the group’s concerts have been wonderful and the Queen + Adam Lambert tour have given him the opportunity to make himself known to more people.
Lambert said that he also thinks of different ways to approach the show. He believes that with Queen, he has to be really exaggerated, bordering on the ridiculous including the costumes because the music requires it and that he has to be drawn to the role.
The performance of Queen + Adam Lambert since 2012 has been packing it in whenever they go in different parts of the world and it looks like the iconic rock band and the rising pop star sensation are planning a date with history soon.
Latest reports have it that Queen and Adam Lambert are in talks, perhaps with the involvement of some local organizers, to have one show in the Middle East country of Israel.
If the one-night performance pushes through, it would be the very first time for both the Queen and Adam Lambert to perform in the country and it would also be the very first time that Israel would be hosting world-renowned music artists to perform in their country.
