Adam Lambert is proud that he was chosen as part of the Top 4 most influential gay men in music as posted on Twitter by Music’s Rebellion.
Subsequently, Lambert retweeted the post on December 23 that had his name joining the likes of Troye Sivan, Olly Alexander, and Sam Smith.
The list, however, did not rank who among the four is the most influential music personality, but Adam would surely be in the running for the top honor if a ranking is made among the four.
Adam Lambert shot to fame when he finished runner-up during the eighth season of “American Idol.” He signed up with 19 Entertainment in a joint venture with RCA Records and in 2009, released his debut studio album titled “For Your Entertainment.”
What makes Lambert clicked among fans is his flamboyant, theatrical, and androgynous performance style that complements his powerful, technically-skilled tenor voice with a wide range.
Three years later, Adam Lambert released his second album titled “Trespassing” in May 2012 to critical acclaim. The second album debuted to No. 1 spot on the US Billboard 200. It also topped the Billboard Digital Albums Chart as well as Canada’s Digital Album Chart.
Lambert also made music history by being the first openly gay artist to have achieved the chart-topping position.
A busy 2016 for Adam
After his scheduled concert in Singapore on New Year’s Eve, Adam Lambert will be in for a very busy January. Part one of his “The Original High” concert tour is slated from January 3 to 31 covering various cities in four countries including China, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.
The concert tour has a part two, but he has yet to post the schedule on his Twitter account.
On New Year’s Day, he will be off to London to join Queen in a concert to be held at the Central Hall Westminster near the iconic Big Ben clock-tower to serve as sort of warm-up act to a fireworks display along the river Thames at midnight, notes Billboard.
It will be a perfect send off by Adam Lambert + Queen to 2015 which has been quite a prolific year for the group. It shall also augur an even busier year for Lambert especially with his “The Original High” tour coming along.
Lambert is also expected to join Queen in several music festivals next year, which is something that they have not done previously.
No stopping Adam
Adam Lambert is set to perform in a controversial New Year’s Eve show to be held at The Float in Marina Bay, Singapore on December 31 and it seems that no amount of anti-gay petition can stop the performance from happening.
The “American Idol” alum appears to be not bothered at all that he will be performing in an Asian country currently beset by a cultural divide over his upcoming performance.
Instead, the pop singer has been quite busy with a number of shows this December all in the US, either his own or as a guest performer of other singers.
His Twitter page indicates how busy he is this month, but one thing quite noticeable about his social media page is how proud he is about the carrier single “Ghost Town” of his third studio album titled “The Original High.”
On December 6, he announced to his 2.56 million followers on Twitter that “Ghost Town” has been streamed 100 million times on Spotify, which is quite a feat for a single that has just been released a few months ago.
Some 11 days later, he tweeted his gratitude to Rolling Stone magazine and the voters for making “Ghost Town” the No. 2 most favorite song of 2015. He was a bit conservative with his tweet, as the poll was for the Best Songs of 2015.
