He was a first runner-up in a singing competition reality show seven years ago so when Adam Lambert was given the opportunity to form part of the judging panel for the next season of “X-Factor Australia,” he really feels honored.
In the latest promo trailer for “X-Factor Australia,” Adam Lambert says he is looking forward to the next generation of superstars when he joins the X-Factor judging panel. It will be his first time to become a judge on a singing competition reality show. He will be joining chart-topping rapper Iggy Azalea and balladeer Guy Sebastian on the show’s judging panel, reports the Daily Mail of UK.
In the same teaser, the 34-year-old “American Idol” alum said that he never imagined his life would turn out to be like it is today.
He said that he remembers as a kid and hearing the iconic rock band Queen for the first time but he never imagined that he would have the honor to becoming the lead singer for the classic group.
The “X-Factor Australia” also featured a montage of competitors who vie for this year’s competition.
Lambert shared that even if an audition is not perfect, sometimes there is already a glimmer of something genius on the horizon. He added that there is that moment that makes judges get the feeling or goosebumps which they just can’t ignore.
The teaser also showed Lambert providing feedback to one up-and-coming singer and saying that he represents everything that the next generation is.
The clip also showed several performers crying, singing, and acting surprised then reappears before ending with the “Ghost Town” singer providing some more advice to a contender on the show.
Towards the end of the teaser, Adam Lambert was quoted as saying that he is not going to conform and that he is not going to be one thing because he was just going to be him.
The “For Your Entertainment” chart-topper said that he is honored to be in the role and he just loves what “X-Factor Australia” is all about because it is about prepping an artist for the international music industry.
An outlandish zeal
Adam Lambert is also being acclaimed by critics and fans of the original “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” when a new trailer for the remake of the show was released recently by Fox at the Annual Transylvanian Convention.
Lambert was shown in the bombastic trailer as Eddie singing an outrageous rendition of “Hot Patootie – Bless My Soul” which was originally played by Meat Loaf in the original show.
Eddie is an ex-delivery boy and former lover of Dr. Frank-N-Furter and he belted the song with an outlandish zeal that does justice to the role’s original actor in Meat Loaf, details Rolling Stone.
The trailer also featured snippets of classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” music including Ryan McCartan as Brad Majors, singing “Dammit Janet,” Laverne Cox as Frank giving a sultry rendition of “Sweet Transvestite,” and a tease of “The Time Warp.”
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” remake will air on October 20 on Fox. In addition to Adam Lambert, Ryan McCartan, and Laverne Cox, the other cast members include Victoria Justice, Reeve Carney, Christina Milian, Annaleigh Ashford, and Ben Vereen.
Veteran actor Tim Curry will make a special appearance in the show as the Criminologist. He previously played as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the original TV series.
On a break from concert tours
Adam Lambert is currently on a break from his concert tours both as a solo artist and as the front act performer of the iconic rock band Queen.
He is scheduled to return to his gigs in September which gives him a little over a month of hiatus from his hectic year-round schedule.
The break also gave Lambert the opportunity to focus on the promotion of the TV show, the “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” where he plays the role of Eddie in the classic musical.
