Of course there are a few reasons that you might know Abigail Spencer, but most of them are not going to be safe for work. The 33-year old actress has been around television crews for a long time, but recently she was in front of her own camera making more friends. Besides that, the popular actress has found a way to get those that are thinking about hacking her iPhone, switched over to those that like to watch the television show, True Detective.
At first you might not recognize Abigail Spencer, but when you see her filmography, the light bulb will go on rather quickly. The young, attractive actress has found her way into movies like Cowboys & Aliens, The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia, Oz the Great and Powerful and This is Where I Leave You. All of those movies have been pretty good, but she certainly has been getting more attention for her roles on various television shows.
Shows like Mad Men, Angela’s Eyes, Hawthorne and Suits are just few that she has been getting various amounts of attention for. Besides have an unknown role in the new season of True Detective, Abigail Spencer is busy with a new dramatic series on the Sundance Channel called Rectify. Her career started way back in 1999 when she appeared on All My Children as Becca Tyree. It was there that she won the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Female Newcomer in 2000.
That might not have been enough to propel her into a major stardom class, but it was certainly going to help her get more work. After a few years out of the spotlight, Abigail Spencer came back with an episode of CSI as Becky. A couple episodes here and another there is how the next few years were speckled for her until she became a regular on Mad Men. There she played Suzanne Farrell in just 6 episodes in 2009.
Today, Abigail Spencer has been through the first season of the very popular “True Detective” as Alicia. The odds are good that she will be included in the second season, which is about to begin and various sources have he added to the cast already. The show is going to see new characters and right now the role that she plays is considered “unknown”. The second season of the show is going to bring in two new characters and take place in California.
With that being said, Abigail Spencer said in a recent interview that the show “hasn’t quite left the south”, so that is keeping fans a little curious about how that is possible. According to at least one source, Abigail Spencer will be playing Alicia in at least one episode of the second season.
