Abigail Spencer Says She’s Rami Malek’s Good Luck Charm During the 2016 Emmy Awards!

Rami Malek, who plays the socially awkward and clinically depressed programmer Elliot Anderson in the American psychological thriller drama TV series “Mr. Robot” on the USA Network, was named Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series during the 2016 Emmy Awards held on September 19.

Before he got the award, he was actually made as one of the presenters along with versatile TV actress Abigail Spencer, where she had some awkward moments.

After Malek bagged the Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series, Spencer shortly took to Twitter to say that she was the actor’s lucky charm. She also posted a Snapchat video of the two of them together during the presentation of one of the awards.

It was the first time that Spencer attended the Emmy Awards and just like in her previous red carpet appearances in the past, she looks stunning.

She also said on Twitter that she feels honored to be given a role in the Emmy Awards but she had her usual goosebumps before the event considering that it was her first time to be at the prestigious event for TV entertainers.

At the end of the event, she also thanked the people who made her look good in the event and also said that she was a goof ball from the gulf breeze that was standing in her dream. She ended her tweet by saying that she is quite grateful and putting red lips emoji after her message.

Jumpstarting her career

In an interview before she stepped on the red carpet of the Emmys, Abigail Spencer said that her role in “Mad Men” is the acting assignment that jumpstarted or changed her career for the better, notes E! Online.

She said that she has since gone on to take on various acting assignments both on films and TV. She has just completed work on two simultaneous TV series in “Rectify” and “True Detective,” and is now busy on her show on NBC entitled “Timeless.”

Abigail Spencer also has a new movie now on theaters entitled “A Beautiful Now,” which follows Romy, her role in the film, who is a depressed dancer who has locked herself in her bathroom with a bottle of champagne and a loaded gun, details Indiewire.

When her friend David, played by Cheyenne Jackson, lets her other friends know that she is planning to commit suicide, they all gather outside of her bathroom and try to talk her down with her morbid plan.

As a result, they were able to rehash old arguments, bring up their differences, and reveal previously hidden emotions, all while flashbacks detail how Romy got to where she is now.

Spreading the good word about the TV series

The most that fans could hear or know from versatile actress Abigail Spencer over the past couple of months is either from her Twitter account where she is very active or the red carpets of various awarding ceremonies and film or TV festivals.

Since the 2016 awarding ceremonies are almost over and done with, Abigail Spencer is now preoccupying herself with attending various festivals, the latest of which is the ATX Festival, where she also joined along with several of her lady friends.

On TV, she is still a proud cast member of “Rectify” TV series on Sundance, and the show is now on its fourth and final season.

When a full-length feature article on “Rectify” was published a few months ago, Spencer took to Twitter to extend her appreciation to the news outlet for spreading the good word about the TV series.

Obviously, the actress is proud of the outlet’s scintillating review of “Rectify” for its unhurried and high-quality storytelling at no expense of a network’s mercy.

While it’s not as popular as “Game of Thrones” or “The Walking Dead” which are basically the hallmarks these days of a successful TV series, “Rectify” actually resembles the meticulous pacing of the critically-acclaimed TV series of yore “Breaking Bad.”
