Abby Lee Miller, the dance instructor and star of the American dancing contest reality TV series “Dance Moms” on the Lifetime channel, hints her doubt if the series will still have a Season 6 next year.
Not that the show is not doing well in the ratings because in fact it is. The problem according to Abby Lee is the fact Lifetime network is delayed on their payment plan to her and it seems that the arrears have grown significant as of late.
Miller said that before the network starts talking to her about Season 6, it should first address the money issue and update first its payment plan to her, details the International Business Times.
She revealed early in June that the cast of “Dance Moms” only makes $1,500 each per episode despite the show achieving international recognition. She wants the network to consider raising it to at least $2,000 each per episode for Season 6, although there have been reports that the cast are already getting paid $2,000 per episode in the current fifth season.
Abby Lee is also offended because the network does not give her creative credit for “Dance Moms.” She said that she may not have anything to do with the creative but she does create numbers for the show every week, which is the most crucial part for a reality show.
Not returning
A few days before the airing of the rest of the episodes of Season 5 of “Dance Moms” on the Lifetime channel on June 9, Miller has hinted that she might not be coming back for the sixth season of the show next year.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight at her new Los Angeles dance studio, Miller talked about several behind-the-scenes conflicts that emerged over the past few months.
She disclosed that there are some sorts of conflicts with the show producers, and even the network which she feels could eventually result to the blocking of the production of the show’s Season 6. That’s in addition to the network’s payment delay to her.
Conspicuously absent
The “Dance Moms” star also revealed that fans of the show would surely notice that for the remainder of the episodes for Season 5, she will be inconspicuously missing in a lot of them.
She detailed that there have been some sort of altercation during one of the competitions. For some reasons, the producer threw her out and she left without even arguing.
Abby said that if the producers of “Dance Moms” believe that they can do the show without her then they should just do it without her.
She explained that the conflict originated from the persistence of some of the mothers of the contestants to have their kids attend classes which she finds as a joke because they should have thought about it before they joined the competition.
Miller said that she had to fight with production during the first three seasons of “Dance Moms” because of the desire of several mothers to have their kids attend normal classes. She says that those efforts would disrupt her classes at her dance studio.
From the looks of Abby Lee Miller on her shows…. She might need a drug test.
I wouldn’t watch “Dance Mom’s” if Abby were to leave. Quite frankly I’m quickly loosing interest with the resent shows due to Abby not being there. “ABBY LEE MILLER” is what makes the show, nothing else nor anyone else can or will compare. I hope the executives figure it out, soon!
Glad the bully is gone
I’ve suspected drugs for a while, but tonight I saw her ‘tic’ like 3 times in a row. Right when she enters the dressing room at the competition, her right shoulder. The emotional outbursts, weight loss with binge eating, lip licking, irrational thinking, nose itching/rubbing. For the protection of everyone, Get this woman to rehab!!!
I thought the exact same thing. She is most definitely displaying “drug-like” behaviors.
I have thought the same thing about the drug use. Abby really does look and act like she is on drugs. Also, I am very disappointed that Holly continues to put Nia through the emotional abuse that Abby dishes out to her every chance that she gets. I don’t understand why Holly and Nia don’t leave the show.
Since when did it become the Jill show. She lied when she said Kendal had been with Abby since she was a mini. She constantly stirs trouble. I think she should leave. Kendal is the same as when she first arrived , very little improvement.
