Samsung Galaxy S6 Images Show All Metal Frame!

Samsung is getting ready to release the sixth installment in the “S” series of smartphones later this year and according to online sources, the company is going to push changes throughout the mobile world. For the last five years or more, smartphone makers have been using cheap, lightweight materials to put their top of the line smartphones together with hopes of cutting costs and keeping the weight off if possible. The Galaxy S6 is reportedly going to change all of that when it arrives.

If the images that were leaked online this week are actual, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is going to be built on an all metal frame. This is a huge move for a smartphone company that makes millions of units every single year and is about to see a cost increase for sure. For years, Apple has been watching to make sure Samsung was not copying there designs, but that has never been the problem. Samsung has been copying itself and making a new smartphone based on the design from the model it was replacing.

The Galaxy S5 is an updated version of the S4, which was brought to the market as an upgrade from the S3. Since the Samsung Galaxy S3 was not really considered a top quality smartphone you can see that Samsung might have been going down the wrong path to begin with. Last year, Samsung was caught up in its own game and needed to do something as other companies started to make better, cheaper smartphones for the consumers that wanted them.

The images that leaked online show all sides of the metal frame and you can easily see where the ports are going to be. According to the drawings of the metal frame, the Samsung Galaxy S6 will measure just 7.2mm thick and will include areas for an addition microphone a cutout that might be for an IR sensor. On the bottom, there is a microUSB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone and speaker.

Other than the upgrade to an all metal frame, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is also going to be packed with upgraded hardware. The phone is going to have a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a qHD resolution, which is the new standard these days. The phone will feature an octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, 20MP camera on the back side and a 5MP front-facing camera for taking selfies. Other hardware reportedly included with the phone is a “non-swipe fingerprint” scanner that will be situated on the home button.
