It seems that the report last week that the marriage of power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is on the rocks is not true at all. Apparently, Brangelina has found a good principle to ensure that their marriage remains healthy and strong.
The A-list couple is said to be employing the 5:2 principle in their marriage, reports Yahoo! News.
The principle works in the way that they spend five days together and five days apart in a given week. Given their stature and characters as creative persons, spending constant time together usually equates to increased tension between Brad and Angelina.
To avoid possible escalation of this tension, they adopted the 5:2 principle. For every five days they spend together, they will decide to stay apart for the next 48 hours. The two-day separation helps them appreciate each other more, reveals the source close to the couple.
Space and balance
It is normal for creative people to seek for space and balance and that’s what Brangelina used in their marriage and it seems to be doing the relationship a lot of good.
Because of their natural personas, Brad and Angelina have a very fiery relationship so the 5:2 principle really works for them. By giving each other space whenever necessary, they make their time together more special.
The couple first thought of the 5:2 principle during the filming of their honeymoon movie titled “By the Sea,” which is being directed by Angelina Jolie, with her and Brad Pitt starring on it.
The last time the two shared top billing in the same film was “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” shown in 2005.
The often rigorous and long days on the set to go with the film’s engrossing plotlines made Angelina quipped in an interview that she felt like she and Brad Pitt spent their honeymoon together playing two people in a terrible marriage.
Problem in spending too much time together
A source close to the couple disclosed that the filming of “By the Sea” last year enabled the couple to discover that the more they spend their time together, the more they get to encounter big problems between themselves.
The filming was a working honeymoon for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and the days were intense, to the tune of 14-hour days on the set, and retiring after a long day’s work in a cooped up small rental property did not help any at all to lessen the tension on Brangelina.
In December last year, Angelina got chicken pox. She spent a lot of time away from her husband. The separation has put their personal problems in perspective and that was when the two agreed to have the mandatory two days of being apart from one another.
While they have been together for over 10 years already, Brad and Angelina only officially tied the knot in August 2014. They already have a brood of six children.
