Captain Jack Sparrow’s days as a bachelor are said to be numbered as he is about to get married in a couple of days.
Yahoo! Celebrity has reported that 51-year-old Johnny Depp, who has become known the world over as Captain Jack Sparrow from the very successful “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie franchise, is going to tie the know with long-time girlfriend, the 28-year-old Amber Heard.
There was no specific date mentioned of the planned wedding except that it is going to be held next weekend, as reported by People Magazine.
The wedding ceremonies will be held at Johnny Depp’s 45-acre private island, which he named Little Hall’s Pond Cay, in the Central American country of Bahamas.
Long engagement
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard began dating in 2012 although it was in 2011 that they’ve met and co-starred in the movie “The Rum Diary.” They only started dating in 2012 after Johnny called it quits with long-time partner Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two children.
Johnny and Amber announced their engagement in January 2014 and they marked their being engaged during a high-profile engagement party held two months later that was attended by Marilyn Manson, Steven Tyler, Mandy Moore and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
Some months after their engagement party, there have been countless rumors about the couple splitting up as both have been seen going solo on some Hollywood events. But they eventually quashed those breakup speculations by appearing together during the 8th Annual Heaven Gala held in December 2014.
Limited guests
Sources close to the couple said the wedding would be very private as it shall only include 50 close friends and family members including Johnny Depp’s children by Vanessa, the 15-year-old Lily Rose, and the 12-year-old Jack.
It was also said that the guests to the wedding will be staying on Depp’s 53-year-old Mortdecai star’s yacht for lack of space in his home in the private island. The yacht is moored very close to his property.
The couple decided to get married next weekend because both of them would be very busy in the next couple of weeks. A source close to the couple said Amber would be doing a movie in London while Johnny will soon start filming for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” in Australia. They would not be able to get married beyond next week because many of their guests would not be available as well.
Reports also have it that Amber will be wearing a wedding gown made by British designer Stella McCartner.
Johnny Depp has been engaged four times in the past and none of those prospered into marriage. She has recently been engaged to Vanessa Paradis, and previously with Jennifer Grey, Sherilyn Fenn, and Winona Ryder.
