American car manufacturer Ford Motor Corporation has redefined not only the concept but the looks of the wagon with the release of its 2015 Transit Connect.
From the sound of the name of the vehicle, it may appear as if it’s a bus or something, especially with the word ‘transit’ on it. But most definitely it is not.
The 2015 Ford Transit Connect is a neither here nor there design of a full-sized family wagon or a full-sized van so it settled somewhere in between.
It can be analogous to a crossover vehicle which is the middle design of an upscale sedan and a full-size SUV. Technically, the Transit Connect is called a minivan or more descriptively known as a compact panel van.
Ford has also developed and manufactured a 2015 full-sized van and it named it Transit, which is now American’s best-selling van as of December 2014.
A new look that attracts
Unlike the typical rounded design features of the wagon, the 2015 Ford Transit Connect is more straightforward and linear with its character lines that it actually looks like it was patterned after the Rolls Royce of yore or the recent Range Rover designs.
It looks so unconventional for a minivan that it actually draws a great deal of attention when people see it on the road.
It’s not as big as a real family wagon but it has more than enough space to comfortably fit seven passengers including the driver. And it has also interior flexibility that enables it to load more than enough cargo if necessary.
While it is not considered a utility vehicle, the 2015 Ford Transit Connect is a do-all and carry-all type of minivan that is why it is also called a family wagon most often.
Superb interiors and power
Apart from being roomy and spacious, the interiors of the 2015 Ford Transit Connect are also superb and very remarkable. It also has a panoramic fixed-glass vista roof.
Excellent craftsmanship on many of its interior features is very noticeable, which is fast becoming the American carmaker’s signature on all of its modern vehicles.
The 2015 Ford Transit Connect comes in three different variants, the XL Wagon, the XLT Wagon and the Titanium Wagon, all with various packages where buyers can make their choices depending on their preferences.
In terms of what’s under the hood, the minivan draws strength from its powerful 2.5-liter Duratec DOHC I-4 engine which is capable of giving off maximum power of 169 horsepower at 6,000 revolutions per minute, something extraordinary for a vehicle in its class.
The Ford Transit Connect also runs as a standard front-wheel drive with six-speed automatic transmission and comes with either 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels.
The minivan has great emphasis on safety as it possesses the modern Ford technological safety features to ensure the protection of its driver and passengers regardless of driving conditions.
