With the Surface Pro 4 coming to the marketplace at some time this year, those that purchased the Surface Pro 3 are going to have to decide it is time for an upgrade. The first two Surface tablets were not quite as good as the third one has been according to consumers and critics alike. The first two tablets put Microsoft in a little bit of a hole in the tablet market, but the third device in the series has been a much better device overall.
The Surface Pro 3 from Microsoft the thinner of the first three tablet/hybrid devices measuring just 9.1mm thick, plus it is lighter. One of the complaints that the company was getting the first time around included that the device was not light enough and that it felt more like a laptop than a tablet. The Surface Pro 3 comes with a USB port, microSD card reader and stereo speakers as well.
The 12-inch tablet comes with a 12 inch display that has a 2160×1440 resolution and is perfect for watch movies or videos and the battery life of just more than 7 hours. On the back side and the front side you will see cameras and they are both 1080p, 5MP versions which is pretty nice for the tablet. Storage options are plentiful offering consumers up to 512GB of internal memory. Besides all of those cool features, the tablet also comes with 4 or 5GB of RAM that will keep things running very smooth.
One would have to figure that with such great features, the Surface Pro 3 would be hard to compete against when the fourth one arrives later this year. One thing that always bothered consumers was the fact that the price you are going to pay for the 128GB version of the Surface Pro 3 is $999. If you bump up the storage to 256GB, you are going to pay around $1,299. That is the two models that are equipped with the Into Core i5 processors.
Getting even more processing power in the tablet hybrid you are going to have to go with the Intel i7 and that comes in two models as well. The 256GB option is $1,550 and the 512GB version is priced at $1,950. You are paying a lot more for this device, but Microsoft says that because users can activate both mobile and desktop applications on the device and full versions of the Office suite, the prices that you are paying are well worth it. Consumers will have to see once the Surface Pro 4 arrives.
