You might remember Kim Novak has being one of the more prominent actresses in Hitchcock films back in the 50’s and knowing that you would be part of a large group. Recently Kim Novak was at the Oscars last year and was quickly bullied about her looks. Kim Novak is 81 years old and, of course, she does not look it, but that bothered some people, including Donald Trump. Others made comments about her looks and that quickly sent Kim Novak into a tailspin, as she describes it.
Once she got a hold on herself, she decided that it was time to rise up and speak against bullies. Since then she has been in the news on and off about various things, including a letter she penned against those bullies. Kim Novak was not going to leave her house ever again, but once she wrote the letter, she felt empowered to not let the bullies win. Recently she was invited to attend the Febiofest international film festival coming up in March.
The organizers were not sure they were going to hear back from Kim Novak, but according to sources, she recently accepted the invitation and will attend the 22nd annual Febiofest. The international film festival is held in Prague each year and this year she will be the first time for Kim Novak. Febiofest director said they will present films like “Vertigo”, “Picnic” and “Middle of the Night” in honor of Kim Novak.
Others that have visited the film festival in Prague include Geraldine Chaplin, Claudia Cardinale, Richard Lester, Alan Parker, Wim Wenders and Roman Polanski just to name a few of the stars. Febifest brings the best films included films that won awards at other festivals in Berlin, Cannes, Venice, Toronto and San-Sebastian. There are not many, but once in a while, movies that were nominated for an Oscar show up at the festival as well.
Kim Novak has been in the business for many years and just as it was mentioned earlier, she acted in many of Hitchcock’s best films throughout the 50’s. For someone in Hollywood that has a 60 year career in the film business, Kim Novak has really contributed to the art and the awards she won show that others felt the same way. Kim Novak is currrently living in Oregon and is an accomplished painter. Even though she rarely showcases her art, she did do a solo show of her paintings at the Butler Institute of American Art in May of last year.
