As far as iconic TV shows go, “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is surely among the top of the list, as there were hardly any more popular series during the 90s. It was a huge hit everywhere it aired, and its effects on popular culture can still be felt today, and will likely keep resonating for some time. And it’s great to see that the cast of the original series still have good feelings for one another, as Will Smith and Alfonso Ribeiro just recently showed.
The show may have been off the screen for nearly two decades now, but that didn’t stop the two from still acting like the young cousins they were portraying while they worked on the screen, when they met for a small cast reunion on Tuesday. They even posed for a picture together with Alfonso’s son, and Witney Carson, his current partner on “Dancing with the Stars”. The picture, which was made at the backstage of the show’s tour, was shared on Instagram and subsequently became a mini-sensation among fans of the two actors, as well as those who loved the original TV show in general.
Naturally, the picture’s main point of focus was Will Smith, whose height made that inevitable. Everyone was smiling brightly and seemed genuinely happy to be around one another, although no other pictures were shared from the event, sadly. Still, the tour goes on, and it’s likely that over the next few days, we might see more materials from the event making the rounds on the Internet. The two haven’t been particularly secretive about their appearances together in general, so it’s safe to assume that they would be happy to share more photos.
This isn’t the first time Will Smith and Alfonso Ribeiro have shown up together in public, as the two have been generally very close after the show ended in 1996, and have been consistently displaying a great attitude towards one another, supporting the other’s activities and public appearances, and joining in on the fun when a new humorous anecdote came out.
Last but not least, there has been some speculation among fans of the classic show that this closeness between the actors might be indicative of something being cooked up behind the scenes, as they seem to be appearing around one another much more often lately. Whether this could mean that a new production is being worked on, or that they simply enjoy each other’s company, it’s hard to tell – but if a new production related to “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” does come up eventually, certainly nobody would mind seeing a few episodes of that, no matter how unlikely it may be at the moment.
