The “Divergent” series is about to receive its new installment “Insurgent” soon, and many fans of the original novel have been hopeful that its movie adaptation will be at least as good as the first one. And so far, there have been plenty of indications that this is indeed the case, and that fans can expect to see some fantastic action in the new film, along with a deep, involved plot that should satisfy not only those coming from the books, but also fans of good cinema in general.
The story revolves about a “Divergent”, a person who couldn’t be matched to any of the standard profiles in the simulation testing, making them uncontrollable and a target for a constant manhunt. She manages to join a faction of adventurers who are trying to protect the city, and falls in love with the character of Theo James.
Recently, a new video has emerged showing some behind the scenes action, and it seems to be a very positive indication for what fans can expect to see in the new movie, in terms of action and quality of performance. Tris has become noticeably tougher, according to the author of the series, and she has done away with her original appearance, sporting a new short-haired look instead. The motivation for this seems to be rooted within the story itself, and it’s not just something she does for style reasons, although many seem to be in agreement that the new look is very fitting for her character.
The plot of the new film will be much more complex and interesting than that of the first one, matching the progression in the original books. “Insurgent” should manage to please both those looking for some solid action, as well as fans who’ve come to see interesting plot twists and want some more food for thought. Of course, much of the overall plot is still a mystery, and it’s unlikely that we’ll see any major details revealed before the film is out, but from what’s been shown so far, it seems like the film’s writers have put some serious effort into their work.
There’s also a lot of positivity from critics towards the characters of Theo James and Shailene Woodley, as many seem convinced that the two make a perfect match on screen, and want to see even more of them together. It’s reached the point where some critics seem to be interested in the new film for this reason alone, and while that’s certainly not a bad thing, it should be noted that “Insurgent” still has plenty of other good qualities up on display, and any true film lover should not miss out on the experience.
