WWE Royal Rumble 2015 Lacks Depth of WWE Superstars!

With the WWE Royal Rumble 2015 less than a week away, speculations are also coming in to WWE’s first major pay-per-view of the year.

And none of those speculations or assumptions is more believable than the fact that this year’s Royal Rumble match lacks depth in terms of firepower or in terms of number of elite WWE Superstars, something that wrestling fans enjoyed heavily back in the 90s.

This has been a problem for WWE over the past couple of years since the company was not able to build enough big-name superstars that until today, the likes of John Cena, Triple H, and Brock Lesnar continue to headline its roster.

Same old superstars

Triple H has been around for more than two decades in the WWE. Cena has been around for over 10 years, and Lesnar, although had once moved to the UFC, has also been in the wrestling entertainment business for over 10 years.

And lest it is forgotten, the Undertaker, who has been with the WWE for more than 20 years, is still on its active roster. But given his age, the Undertaker only comes to play occasionally or only if his health would allow it.

The WWE lost another popular superstar CM Punk last year over certain contract disputes and is now with the UFC.

The WWE also reinforced the notion that it now lacks the firepower that it used to wield when it inserted and re-introduced Sting back to the wrestling fray during its last major pay-per-view event in November 23, 2014 – the Survivor Series.

Same old superstars for the same old wrestling entertainment company may still be drawing a good number of fans but it is obvious that the glamour is starting to fade especially if the WWE do not act on building up more than enough of next generation of WWE superstars.

Rumble match that lacks stars

In other words, with the exception of the development of a few upstarts such as Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins and a handful of others, there is a dearth of big-name WWE Superstars and it will become very obvious come the 30-man royal rumble, which is the highlight of the event.

The highlight rumble match also suffers from the fact that the company’s three biggest superstars will be in the main event’s triple threat match involving Brock Lesnar, John Cena and Seth Rollins for the world heavyweight championship, notes Heavy.

Not much WWE superstar firepower in the other match of the pay-per-view which is the WWE tag team championship featuring Jimmy and Jey Uso against The Miz and Damien Mizdow.

royal rumble

The 30-man Royal Rumble match will still push through regardless of dearth of WWE Superstars and it is most likely that the match will go to the few remaining WWE superstar upstarts including Roman Reigns, Rusev, Bray Wyatt, and Daniel Bryant. Kane would be possibly there too. If rumors are true that Sting will also be in the rumble, then he would the in the very limited company of legitimate wrestling superstar in the rumble match.
