OnePlus One Puts a Leg Up on the Competition, Gets Android 5.0 Lollipop Ahead of Other Flagship Smartphones

The most interesting Android phone of 2014 is putting a leg up on the competition yet again.

While a good number of smartphone manufacturers are still waiting for the rollout of Google’s latest mobile operating system on their flagship smartphones and other phone lines, OnePlus One is already enjoying the Alpha version of Android 5.0 Lollipop, reports Christian Today.

Brought about by its impressive showing as well as sales performance last year, OnePlus One is trying to sustain the momentum of its major stride in 2014 onto this year.

The small Chinese manufacturer has been very consistent in updating its mobile devices, releasing update after another update, much to the appreciation of the users of its devices including its flagship OnePlus One.

The company has a very hardworking software development team which came up with the Alpha version of the Android 5.0 Lollipop and subsequently spared no time in rolling it out to its flagship smartphone.

Keeping a promise

Following the release of the Alpha version of the Lollipop on OnePlus One, the company issued a statement saying that their effort is in line with keeping their promise to their customers to deliver customizable but otherwise bloat-free Android Lollipop experience. It added that the Alpha version is the best option they can give to OnePlus One users while still waiting for the official ROM release of the Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The company however said that the initial release is not yet the final build of the Alpha version of the Lollipop, saying that it is merely a preview. The Chinese manufacturer added that they are still finetuning the software and will release the final version soon when they see that it’s already running okay.

OnePlus obviously wanted to show that it is a very dynamic and aggressive smartphone manufacturer. Rather than wait for updates, it’s software development team always look for ways within which to ensure that OnePlus One users and other mobile devices of the company are never left behind when it comes to software and system updates.

Feedback on the Alpha version

Initial feedback of OnePlus One users on the Alpha version of the Android 5.0 Lollipop generally says that the operating system looks fine although they can’t help but notice the presence of some bugs on it.

One of the most obvious bugs in the Alpha version is the continuous running of data roaming, which is on by default. Its continuous running may result to phone damage if not averted.

Some of the other software glitches include the unstable Wi-Fi, camera, and video. It has also been noted that the clock crashes often while the capacitive keys do not turn off when software keys are enabled.

OnePlus One

Still, users are excited that OnePlus has already rolled it out to their devices ahead of the rest because they believe that the company will soon roll out an update to fix these bugs on the Alpha version of the Lollipop. After all, OnePlus never misses a beat in giving updates to its users.
