Despite qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the Iranian national football team is experiencing a wide range of problems in its preparation phase. Economic sanctions, which are imposed by the United States against Iran, have made the Iranian Football Federation unable to organize football camps and appropriate friendly games for Team Melli.

Over the past few months, Iran coach Carlos Queiroz has repeatedly criticized Iranian officials for not supporting the national football team.

Iranian football analyst Mohammad Reza Naimi believes that Iran will definitely shine in the World Cup. “Although Team Melli is experiencing many problems before the FIFA World Cup, I strongly believe that Iranian football players will play professionally in Brazil,”

Carlos Queiroz has reportedly invited a number of Iranian football players who are currently playing for European football clubs. “In my opinion, these professional players will help Team Melli to achieve its aims in the World Cup,” Naimi told the Master Herald on Friday.

Ashkan Dejagah, Steven Beitashour and Daniel Davari are among the players who have been invited to the Iranian national football team under the management of Carlos Queiroz.

“After playing so many years in European and American leagues, these players have gained enough experience to lead Team Melli in the World Cup. I believe that all Iranians should support these new players,” Mohammad Reza Naimi added.

It is good to know that several Iranian coaches and analysts have already criticized Queiroz for inviting players from foreign leagues. They have accused Carlos Queiroz of not paying enough attention to the Iran Pro League.

“We should take advantage of all available resources to shine in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Football has improved in all around the world, but the Iran Pro League has not moved forward over the past few years.” Naimi concluded.
