Mario Kart 8 Has Been the Top Game of 2014, Nintendo Has Finally Got It Correct!

Mario Kart 8 had received a lot of flak when it first came into the scene in Electronic Entertainment Expo of 2013. Mario Kart 8’s anti-gravity racing was not favoured by the fans. They felt Nintendo was trying too hard to impress the players. The anti-gravity racing feature, fans believed was a bad gimmick on the part of the creators.

Mario Kart 8 faced a response that was very similar to the one that Wii U faced when it was released for the first time. The odd controller created confusion and indifference among the players, but players soon warmed up to the game and ended up loving it.

Wii U won over the fans with its smart rewards that were in abundance and the manner in which the series kept referring to the great games in the past. The massive popularity run for Wii U was checked by Mario Kart 8.

It so appears that fans who had initially been sceptical about the anti-gravity racing feature, has now realised that that was the best part of Mario Kart 8. The track designs of Mario Kart 8 made the players start to enjoy the game more. They were more challenging and entertaining. One reason Mario Kart Wii was not as popular as Mario Kart 64 was because the race course “Maple Treeway” was too broad to challenge the racers. They didn’t find it challenging enough while racing at 150cc speed.

Yes, Mario Kart 8 does appear to have broad race courses, given that the online version of the game can accommodate almost 12 players in a track, but they are also very crowded and exciting. The players have the option of choosing different routes depending on their nature of racing. Interesting routes in “Twister Mansion”, “Dolphin Shoals” and “Mount Wario” give the players a taste of something different every time.

The best charm of the race courses is, no matter how often to ply through those routes, they still feel new. Nintendo also gives them a sheen that has become their signature in high definition games.

With Mario Kart 8, Nintendo has finally hit the bull’s eye. After working on online consoles for 13 years, they have finally got it right with this game. It’s fun to catch up with friends to play a game or simply participate in a race. The whole experience is very easy and hassle-free. The downloadable content is also brilliant, which further enriches the experience when it comes to Mario Kart 8.

Even without adding the DLC, Mario Kart 8 provides the gamers with a great experience. Every extra, that is revealed, feels like a bonus.
