Photos from the set of The Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales have surfaced. The set is being created in the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. This is where most of the production and shooting will take place.
The set looks like an 18th-century town and given the news of the delay in the production, the photos of the almost complete set is good news for the fans. Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning, the directors of Pirates of the Caribbean 5 had signed in for the film in 2013, and the film is yet to be completed. Disney had later come up with the sad news that the release dates have been pushed back from 2015 to 2016.
The fans of Pirates of the Caribbean 5 met with another setback in March of 2014 when there was official news stating that the production house is yet to give a green signal to the script and production was still caught up. However, now with the photos of the set surfacing on the internet, fans can be hopeful for a 2017 release of the film.
There’s no news on the script of the film. However, it is known that Johnny Depp is coming back as Jack Sparrow. He will have Geoffrey Rush playing the role of Captain Barbossa. There are rumors that Javier Bardem is set to play the role of the villain Captain Brand, a ghost looking for revenge against Captain Jack Sparrow, whom he holds responsible for his brother’s the murder.
The franchise was popular especially because of the presence of Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in it, but with Orlando out, fans still have a lot to be happy with given that Javier Bardem and Geoffrey Rush will be a part of Pirates of the Caribbean Season 5.
The filming is set to start in Australia in 2015 and given the photos from the set, it looks like things are right on schedule. This set, however, is the one on land, but what about the ones on the sea? The infamous ship, Black Pearl will be recreated by revamping the ship The Rainbow Gypsy.
The 15-year-old Rainbow Gypsy will be given newly reconfigured cabins, decks, and bowsprit. The ship sailed into the Gold Coast on January 1st.
Several actresses have already auditioned for the role of the lead actress for the film, to be paired opposite Brenton Thwaites, who plays the role of a British soldier.
With the filming set to start in February of this year, the producers are looking towards a 2017 summer release.
