WWE Royal Rumble 2015: Sting Won’t Be in the Event

Sting made a surprise appearance during the WWE pay-per-view event Survivor Series 2014 on November 23 held at the full-packed Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

His appearance at the Survivor Series 2014 sets off speculations among wrestling fans that he may soon be appearing regularly in WWE events. Initial reports also have it that he will be at WWE Royal Rumble 2015 to be held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania this coming January 25, 2015.

Because he crossed path with Triple H and Team Authority during the Survivor Series 2014, many were expected that Sting and Triple H would go at it come Royal Rumble 2015, a match that wrestling fans the world over would love to see.

Christian Today reports that it is unlikely that Sting would square off with Triple H on Royal Rumble 2015. But there is no stopping the WWE or Sting from making yet another surprise appearance on the pay-per-view event and interfering again in another match or interview that involves Triple H or Team Authority.

Aside from Triple H, the other members of Team Authority are Stephanie McMahon, Randy Orton, and Kane.

Sting vs Triple H in WrestleMania 31?

Sting’s continued interference with Triple H and Team Authority’s business would surely be an interesting storyline to further drumbeat their possible dream match come WrestleMania 31 to be held at the brand new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Looking through the lineup of matches slated for Royal Rumble 2015, Sting and Triple H may possibly cross path again in matches involving one of the members of Team Authority or during the main event itself, which would be the battle between John Cena and Brock Lesnar.

Triple H has expressed his desire to face Sting in WrestleMania 31 although initial speculations after Survivor Series 2014 indicate that wrestling’s iconic vigilante would battle it out with the Undertaker.

No Undertaker too

Bereft of any storyline or conflict between Sting and the Undertaker, now it seems likely that Triple H would get the first crack at Sting in his first official wrestling match in the WWE come WrestleMania 31.

There are also rumors of late that given his tender age, the Undertaker is no longer fit for another gruelling match particularly with Sting in WrestleMania 31. It seems likely however that the Dead Man has suffered an injury as of late and is just recuperating.

The Undertaker would not be appearing during the Royal Rumble 2015 event.

Another comeback

After getting beaten by Team Cena during the Survivor Series 2014, Team Authority is reportedly making a comeback in the Royal Rumble 2015.

Sting

In order to further fuel the already growing animosity between Triple H and Sting, it is rumored that Vince McMahon will commission the services of Sting, given his vigilante character and his stubbornness to bow down to any so-called authority, to fight Team Authority.
