Great times are coming for action film fans – with work on “The Expendables 4” going according to plan, and the cast getting even bigger, things have been shaping up quite nicely. And it’s now been revealed that an even bigger name from the film scene is about to make a return to the big screen – and that’s none other than Rambo, one of the most iconic action characters of all time.
This was confirmed by Sylvester Stallone, who announced that the “Rambo” franchise is getting a sequel, and it will be called “Rambo: Last Blood”. Fans of the series will probably get the reference, as the first film in the franchise was called “First Blood”. It’s not known if the name is a hint that the series is going to be ended for good with this installment, or if it alludes to something else, but considering the long run of the “Rambo” franchise, it may not be that unusual to expect that this will be the last film.
Besides the title, not much else is known about the new “Rambo” yet, as Stallone mentioned the film in passing more than actually going in detail about what it will bring to the table. Knowing how much the actor loves his franchise though, and how much work and dedication he’s poured into its previous installments, it’s probably safe to assume that the new “Rambo” will not only live up to fans’ expectations, but might even go above them if Stallone plays his cards right.
It’s been confirmed that Stallone himself will be responsible for both the script writing as well as directing the new film, which, considering that he’ll likely want to star in it as well, would be quite the task to take on. However, Stallone already has a lot of serious experience under his belt in all areas of filmmaking, so fans have been confident that the actor will know exactly what to do in order to make the production a flawless one.
From the way Stallone was speaking, it was implied that the new film is still in a very early stage of development and probably won’t hit the screen anytime soon. This could also mean that major casting decisions are yet to be made, so it’s not known who’ll be playing alongside Stallone in his new production. Rumors have already started going around, and some are claiming that Stallone wants to bring back old actors from the previous installments in the franchise. While this is most likely guaranteed to happen, there are numerous possibilities regarding which actors might end up getting chosen, and it’s not clear which of those possibilities will become reality in the end.
