Even though it’s possible that the show’s fifth season may be its last, the confirmation of the new season has been met with strongly positive comments by the community, and most people have been really glad to see their favorite legal team back in action. The show quickly rose to fame with its innovative concept and great cast, and ever since its debut in 2011, it’s been enjoying more and more attention from both critics and fans.
Its production has been a bit slow-paced for the most part, but on the other hand, each new season is a definite improvement over the last one, and the story is getting more and more involved and interesting. And now, with the new season, it’s expected that things are going to wrap up, although it’s not clear exactly how this is going to happen – there’s a lot of possibility that the ending might not be an entirely happy one, as the producers of “Suits” have shown multiple times that they aren’t afraid to shake things up significantly.
The new season has been confirmed to have 16 episodes, and is coming around the summer of 2015. There have been various rumors, allegedly coming from the studio itself, that the new season is planned with a more serious, even darker tone, and that fans shouldn’t grow too attached to their favorite characters, as not all of them may be left until the end.
Of course, these are just rumors, and it’s also worth noting that this is not “Game of Thrones” – no major characters have been removed permanently so far, especially going as far as to kill someone important, with the only exception being Mike’s roommate and “friend” in season 1. After that though, the episodes have been flowing more or less smoothly with regards to the fate of each character, although of course the writers seem to enjoy making life difficult for them.
Considering the way the show started, and what defines its whole premise, there has been speculation that the end of season 5 will see a twist in which Mike will have to face the consequences of his lies. Most fans have been expecting the opposite – that by the end of the show, he’ll be able to enjoy life as a fully qualified attorney, despite lacking any actual qualifications, but if the speculation turns out to be true, this might not be the case at all. The show could very well end in a depressing way, with the whole five seasons leading up to a tough lesson on life. Of course, this is just minor speculation from fans and sounds like it would be a bit too much for a show like “Suits”, but nobody knows what the producers have planned for season 5.
