Battlefield 4 Double XP Event and Discount Is on, Fan Video Shows Maps with Night Setting!

EA may already be marketing the next installment in the “Battlefield” franchise heavily, but their support for “Battlefield 4” is far from over. The game’s fans are currently enjoying a double XP event, combined with a heavy discount on the Premium Edition of the game. This is the perfect time to purchase the package too, now that all DLCs have finally been released, meaning that those who buy it will have immediate access to all of the game’s extra content.

Those who already own the game should hop in and enjoy the current event, as Double XP runs are likely going to become a rarity for the game once “Battlefield: Hardline” comes out. As usual, the Double XP rules are pretty standard, and the bonus allows players to earn weapons and unlocks faster, getting access to the gear that truly interests them.

Players planning to buy the game should definitely get the Premium Edition and not the base package though, as all the extra content included in the various DLC packages changes the landscape significantly. Plus, when owning all content for the game, players won’t have to worry about community fragmentation, as they’ll be able to play with the broadest pool of opponents.

This isn’t the only attractive offer EA are running on Origin right now, as they also have “The Sims 4” for $30, as well as “Dragon Age: Inquisition” for $40 – with the latter being a particularly attractive offer, now that it’s been confirmed that the game will support modding. This is something that will extend its lifetime significantly, something which “Skyrim” managed to prove pretty easily. And last but not least, if anyone wants to check out the past of the series, “Battlefield 3” is available for just $0.99 for the base edition, which is practically nothing given the amount of content included in the game.

Fans of “Battlefield” continue to be quite active in producing new content related to it as well, with the most recent one being a video that shows off the different maps from “Battlefield 4” under nighttime conditions. This is done with the help of the standard Battlefield Cinematic Tool with some extra modifications by the community.

The change may sound mostly cosmetic, but it actually has deeper implications than that – players change their behavior a lot, relying more on specialized sights that offer increased vision under difficult conditions, and the overall pace of the gameplay seems to be quite different as well. Slower, more tactical combat seems to be emphasized, which is certainly not a bad thing, and it’s a change that can benefit the franchise.
