The 2015 Nisan Maxima has high hopes riding on it as this could be Nissan best shot at recovering the massive financial losses that the firm has been undergoing for some time. Nissan has recorded a steady decrease in demand over the past few months with sales dropping by 3% in October 2014, compared to the same period in 2013 and 2% in November 2014, compared to the same month last year.
Nissan has reminded the investors that there is no major reason for concern as fall in demand is attributed primarily to a drop in temperature. 2015 will witness the launch of numerous designs, ideas and concept vehicles apart from the new Maxima. Hence, the situation is likely to improve soon.
Nissan recorded 91,790 units being sold in December so far as opposed to 103,188 units in November. Infiniti Motors recorded a sharp drop of 13 percent, selling a measly 11,398 units last month. Nissan’s falling sales volume can be attributed to their failure to keep a steady flow of vehicles.
The Nissan Juke, for example, is a popular vehicle, but the company managed to sell just 2,008 units. 2015 witnesses the next-generation Maxima and Murano making headway into the market and this is the primary cause for the dwindling sales of both vehicles. The company had anticipated a fall in demand for the last quarter of 2014, although, they have reassured investors that there is no major reason for concern.
The 2015 Nissan Maxima hence has a lot of hopes pinned on it. Nissan plans on offering a wide range of engine options on the Maxima, including a four-cylinder 2.5-liter engine block, a 3.5-liter V6 engine block, and a Hybrid alternative. All variants are currently hooked on to the front-wheel drivetrain and available with a variable transmission system.
As reported earlier, the upcoming Maxima is heavily inspired from Nissan’s Sports Sedan Concept that was showcased earlier this year. Even though spy images of this vehicle have surfaced on numerous accounts, we are not currently sure of what the actual vehicle looks like as Nissan is yet to come up with the official rendering or showcase a prototype for that matter.
Some of the features that have been confirmed so far are a V-shaped grille up front, boomerang-shaped engine block and a supercharged engine block. The company has not officially announced a launch date. Hence, we will have to be patient for the time being.
