According to the recent rumors regarding Tom Clancy’s The Division, the game may be delayed ‘a little bit’. Ubisoft hasn’t released an official statement regarding this; however, gamers around the world will not be surprised if this is the case. It is set to release sometime during next year. However, no official release date has been announced by Ubisoft. As a result, even if the game is delayed, we won’t be necessarily getting our hands on this title a little later than we anticipated.
Most of the game journalists will not at all be shocked with this delay. 2014 has been an uncharacteristic year for buggy titles. Many major AAA category games released this year experienced a lot of bug-related troubles in the beginning. Gamers are majorly disappointed with such occurrences. It is not only decreasing the consumer’s faith in modern day developers but also reducing the chances of advance pre-orders. In general, Ubisoft has had a rough year.
The Crew, Watchdogs and Assassins Creed Unity, all three major titles faced several issues during its launch, which needed several patch fixes from developers. Far Cry 4 had many PC optimization issues, although, the game was playable. The major problems were faced by Assassins Creed Unity.
The game suffered from severe lag issues even in some of the best-performing rigs. At the same time, facial textures and features of in-game characters seemed to be missing in several cases. The situation was so bad that Ubisoft is giving out a free title until early next year for all those people who purchased Assassins Creed Unity.
After such a huge fiasco, Ubisoft doesn’t want the same things to happen in case of Tom Clancy’s The Division. The game is a quite risky prospect as it makes use of a new IP. Many gamers around the world will not have heard or played this game before, even if Ubisoft does their best, trying to popularize it with advertising campaigns.
However, if this title works out, Ubisoft will have the making of another successful series, ready in their hands. Tom Clancy’s The Division is quite similar to Bungie’s Destiny, except the game is set in a more modern background. Gamers around the world will play as people who are a part of The Division. It is a group that has been set up to protect United States of America after a major disease outbreak. The game features a favorable blend of both Third-Person Shooter and RPG elements.
However, the developers are emphasizing more on the Third-Person Shooter aspect rather than its RPG elements. Rodrigo Cortez, The Art Director declared that he wants the gamers to experience a title that is exactly similar to what they saw in the first gameplay demo.
