Even though no official release date has been announced, it seems like PlanetSide 2 closed beta for PlayStation 4 won’t arrive until January next year. Gamers think it is logical to consider such an eventuality since there is no sign of it releasing in the last days of 2014. This has not yet been confirmed, but tweets shared by Tony ‘RadarX’ Jones, Community Manager of Sony Online Entertainment indicate that the approval for PlanetSide 2 closed beta was delayed.
It was supposed to take place this month but got delayed to January 2015. As indicated by an SOE representative during this year’s PlayStation Experience, the original plan was to submit the beta build on 17th December. If everything went smoothly, there was an underlying chance that the beta would be released by Christmas or December end. SOE hasn’t indicated if the build has been submitted yet.
However, when inquired, they were sure to provide a generic response. A representative declared that presently they do not have any updated information to share regarding PlanetSide 2 for the PS4. At the moment, it is a mystery as to whether the build has been submitted. However, we now have a better idea as to when we should be expecting the PlanetSide 2 beta for the PlayStation 4.
If we all remain good little boys and girls, Santa may yet present us with a beta version this month. However, realistically approaching, we should expect a January 2015 release.
In the meantime, it was promised that Snowmen would be returning to PlanetSide 2, and they finally have. The recently released game update for the PC adds Snowmen in Esamir and Stone Snowmen on Indar, Amerirsh, and Hossin.
Gamers can also expect the Golden Snowmen to present in the entire continent. Shooting all of these new additions allow you to unleash your wrath on the Frozen and at the same time be rewarded some experience points. Besides the new Snowmen, gamers can also expect special Holiday directives which can be found on Auraximas. When they are completed, players will be rewarded with several goodies like cert points, a ‘Snowblower’ title and much more.
This update didn’t just have the holiday content. The Spitfire auto-turret is now available for all engineers in PlanetSide 2. They offer gamers with a new way to engage in combat, specifically one that doesn’t rely completely on twitch response. The auto-turret can be found in the ability slot and has the power to engage hostile infantry within a 50 meter distance.
There are numerous other updates like Wieldable knives, customizable profile banners, Key reminders and Winter Holiday Event Directives. Various Holiday items are now available in store like the new NS knife ‘Icekill’.
