Nintendo will be officially releasing the open world action-adventure video game “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” on the Switch and the Wii U on March 3, 2017, the same day as the official unveiling of the Japanese gaming company’s latest gaming platform.
The company has already made the game available for pre-ordering since December of last year.
But what seems to be adding excitement to gamers who avail of the chance to get copies of the game ahead of its release is the fact that Nintendo has included a beautifully stunning and fabulous poster to come with the game, reports Cog Connected.
The poster will come with all pre-order versions of the game and on both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U consoles. So it would be worth it for gamers to pre-order the game.
Panel at GDC
Meanwhile, a group of three developers behind Nintendo’s upcoming title “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” will host a panel at the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, California in March.
The panel, called “Change and Constant – Breaking Conventions with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild“, will feature game director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, art director Satoru Takizawa, and technical director Takuhiro Dohta, all Nintendo veterans with years of experience working on the previous entries in the “The Legend of Zelda” video game series.
It is set to take place on March 1 at the Moscone Center, placing it right in the middle of GDC’s five-day run from February 27 to March 3.
“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” introduces new features and changes that break from many of the long-standing traditions of “The Legend of Zelda” series as a whole.
The game will take a more open-world approach to the classic “The Legend of Zelda” mechanics, allowing the player to run, climb, and hang-glide through a truly enormous 3D landscape.
The panel will allow the developers to explain the impetus behind these changes, and explain in-depth how they were implemented, reports the Anthology Home Garden.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the Nintendo Switch console both come out on March 3, two days after the panel.
Fans unable to attend the event will be able to watch a video of the panel when it is posted the following week on the GDC Vault.
A pre-order price cut for Christmas
The pre-order price of “The Legend of Zelda” is $60. But during the Christmas season, it was sold through Amazon at $50.99, which was a 15% slash from its original price.
The offer was even better for those who are members of Amazon Prime as the final pre-order price of the game was slashed further by 5% and end up at $47.99.
Incidentally, reports have it that Japanese company Nippon Columbia will be producing an album about the game featuring “The Legend of Zelda” specially orchestrated concert tour held across Japan in October.
The album is officially titled “The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary Concert” and it will reportedly be released in Japan on February 15, 2017, which is an added promotion to the game.
It shall reportedly come in two versions, one is a first-print limited edition version that includes a DVD that shows screenshots that were displayed on the big screen during the concert, tin badges, and a CD stand.
The second version which is called the standard version shall include the same two discs and music from the first-print version.
Nintendo already showed off “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” in detail during its presence at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 trade show in Los Angeles in June last year.
But since the E3 2016, Nintendo has not said much about the new “The Legend of Zelda” game beyond demonstrating it working with the Switch, which used to be known as the NX.
